Common Questions From Our Patients

What types of periodontal procedures do you perform?
Dr. Jett has extensive experience performing advanced periodontal treatments, including the Laser Assisted New Attachment Protocol (LANAP®), periodontal maintenance therapy, and scaling and root planing treatments. If you are at risk of developing gum disease or have periodontal disease, Dr. Jett can prepare a custom treatment plan that will restore your oral health.
Do I need gum disease treatment?
We encourage patients who are experiencing symptoms of gum disease, such as bleeding gums, swollen gums, inflamed gums, and gum recession, to seek periodontal disease treatment as soon as possible. We may recommend scaling and root planing to treat early stages of gum disease or laser gum surgery for advanced cases.
What happens if I neglect gum disease treatment?
The consequences of neglecting gum disease treatment can be very serious and may affect your overall health. Advanced cases of gum disease can lead to tooth loss, jaw bone loss, and contribute to a misaligned bite which affects functioning of the jaw. Early treatment is essential for preserving your natural teeth and for maintaining optimal oral health.
Will I need x-rays?
We typically take digital x-rays to evaluate the state of your oral health and determine whether you have any serious or significant oral health issues that can be addressed right away. Digital x-rays provide us with a fairly accurate image of your teeth and jaw.
How much will it cost to complete my treatment plan?
The cost of treatment varies from patient to patient. We can provide you with a cost estimate after your oral evaluation.
What if I can’t afford the cost of dental treatment?
If you are concerned about the cost of dental care, talk to us about insurance benefits and third-party financing options that can make your dental treatment plan that much more affordable.
